Coatesville, Ind – Services for Courtland “Woody” Tharp, 67, Coatesville, retired deputy auditor for the state of Indiana will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Coatesville Christian Church, of which he was a member. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wingler Funeral Home, Coatesville. He died Saturday in Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle. A native of Putnam County, he lived in Coatesville 40 years. Tharp, a certified public accountant, had been deputy auditor for Indiana retiring in 1981. He was a veteran state employee, working as budget director and chief accountant for the Department of Natural Resources.  He worked as a field examiner for the State Board of Accounts before becoming deputy auditor. He also had been chief clerk for the division of state parks. An Amy veteran of WWII, he was a Sagamore of the Wabash and was named an Honorary Secretary of State. He was a member of the Filmore Masonic Lodge. He was the widower of Buelah Brewer Tharp. Survivors include a sister, Effie Wright and brother, Cassell “Tom” Wright. – transcribed by kbz
